THE FESTIVAL LOGOS AND TROPHIES

Each year, the organizers pick one visual artist  in Bacolod to capture the year’s theme and creative impulses in its logo and trophies.  This began with Peque Gallaga who designed the logo in 2004,  the logo which was retouched for the succeeding years. In 2006, on the suggestions of Bacolod teachers, the trophies of the street dancing competition were designed by Charlie Co who was followed by Dennis Ascalon in 2007 and Jose Carreon, Jr. in 2008, all of them putting their stamp on the basic form that Charlie created.

In 2007,  Barry Cervantes was tapped to do the “Icons of Bacolod” logo, and in 2008, Lee Santiago did the “Bacolod, City of the World” logo.

This year, the organizers have chosen artist  Raymond Legaspi.

Raymond started his creative career in design and illustration having trained in the US after graduating at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Santo Tomas in 1987. After, he spent 20 years in Manila as art/creative director for advertising giants like Ogilvy & Mather, J. Walter Thompson, and Arc Worldwide. He is a multi-awarded advertising and design creative and was formerly the Executive Creative Director of Arc Worldwide. His job has brought him to several countries in Asia, Europe and the United States visiting museums and art galleries inspired him to pursue painting. He has returned home to Bacolod where he now paints.
